EC apologizes, will probe Mumbai voters list deletions

The Election Commission will inquire into the large-scale deletion of names of valid electors from the voters' lists in Mumbai where an estimated 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh people were turned away from polling booths on Thursday. According to election commissioner H S Brahma, the details of the "missing voters" have been sought and a probe may be conducted after the Lok Sabha polls to find the reasons being the "faulty" deletions.
