Kolkata's population has shrunk!

Calcutta has joined the league of London, Paris, Berlin and Washingtosn DC. NOt in Mamata Banerjee's dream, but according to Census 2011. According to provisional data released by the Directorate of Census Operations, Calcutta has one thing de-growth in population in common with some of the world's top cities. The roads may look clogged more than ever before and pavements may be full but Calcutta's population has apparently shrunk from what it was in 2001. According to demographers, degrowth in population has been a trend in the developed nations and most major cities of the West have been witnessing shrinking population over the past few decades.
