Advani raises pitch: NDA MPs to give declarations on black money, assets
Senior BJP leader L K Advani showed today that he continues to be the “rallying point” within the NDA — and possibly still its prime ministerial candidate — as he concluded his 38-day Jan Chetna Yatra across 22 states and five union territories with a massive rally at the Ramlila Maidan here. Targeting the UPA government on the twin issues of black money and corruption, Advani said all NDA MPs (215) would submit declarations to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and Rajya Sabha chairperson Hamid Ansari next week stating that they do not possess, directly or indirectly, any illegal assets or bank accounts outside India — a move that will not only raise the pitch against the UPA but probably dictate the agenda for the Winter Session of Parliament. “I have been permitted by our NDA partners to say that we will be giving such a declaration to the Lok Sabha Speaker next week,” he said.
