Gender inequality in Indian labour market

Every year on International Women’s Day the world celebrates the achievements of women in  social, economic, cultural and political spheres. Not many are aware that this special day for women began as a labour movement in 1908, when 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter working hours, better pay and the right to vote.
