UPA-II could pay electoral price

The Congress balance sheet, for example, does not provide a full list of donors. It collects nearly 500 crore in donations every year but informal estimates put the party's annual income at well over 10 times that figure. The Congress and, increasingly, the BJP have annual revenues and profits similar to large companies listed on the BSE. Unlike these companies, which are strictly regulated by SEBI, political parties allow the EC virtually no supervisory power over them.
