A burning need

It is welcome that the government is seized of the matter of inadequate coal supply in the face of increased power generation capacity coming up of late. The game plan appears to be to step-up brownfield mining by Coal India (CIL), the public sector monopoly, and also to ramp up output in captive mines along with boosting third-party sales.
