Bad news from Dhaka

The news from Bangladesh is extremely disturbing. The coup that was being plotted by a group of middle-level officers of the Bangladeshi Army along with some retired colleagues and Bangladeshis living abroad may have proved to be stillborn, but the very fact that a conspiracy was being hatched in the barracks to topple the elected Government headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is cause enough for concern, if not alarm.
