Going green the smart way
As climate change negotiations continue at Durban, it is becoming increasingly clear that finding a perfectly democratic and equitable burden-sharing framework is not going to be easy. Views are still too sharply polarised to be amenable to any comprehensive agreement. In such a situation, it would be quite apt on the part of the negotiators to take a fresh look at all possible emission reducing ideas in the light of the evolving technological rea-lity around us. Time is clearly running out. The crux of the problem today lies in the inevitable correlation between economic growth, consumption of energy resources and the consequential emissions.
