UPA’s plan to checkmate CAG must be foiled

Regardless of how much the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office V Narayanasamy clarifies his remark, the fact remains that he has let the cat out of the bag. We now know that the Congress-led UPA Government is actively contemplating to convert the Comptroller and Auditor-General's institution into a multi-member body with the primary aim of clipping the wings of the premier audit agency's intrepid head Vinod Rai, and in turn weaken the CAG itself.
