Mayawati had controlled communal violence in UP, why can't SP?

When Uttar Pradesh's electorate chose change as proffered by Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party, they hadn't bargained for this. The last five months have seen communal clashes in five locations across UP - including Faizabad where violence didn't occur even after the Babri mosque demolition. Recently, it took a rumour to spark a riot there, leaving one person dead. Communal violence has occurred with disturbing frequency since the SP took over, rocking Mathura, Bareilly, Pratapgarh and Ghaziabad.
