Former Cabinet Secretary KM Chandrasekhar told the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Thursday that the Prime Minister had in 2007 ignored his suggestion to increase the entry fee for 2G Spectrum licences. Had the suggestion been accepted, the licences would have fetched the national exchequer Rs36,000 crore instead of the Rs9,000 crore that it eventually did.
