Nobel peace prize for EU : Award with an agenda

On October 12, the Nobel peace prize was awarded to the European Union by the selection committee appoin-ted by the Norwegian parliament. Nobel prizes have not been without their share of controversy, and this latest award is no less so, being greeted in Europe itself with pride, astonishment and derision in equal measures.
