Bid for transparency

The Supreme Court's response to the presidential reference related to allocation of natural resources is necessarily nuanced. Instead of pitching it as a "vindication" of its stand, the UPA government should study the fine print. The same goes for its detractors, who seemed to take the earlier judicial verdict in the 2G-spectrum case to mean that auction should be the sole route for resource allocation.
