Pak visas for the asking?

In Shyam Benegal’s Mammo (1994), we saw an Indian-born, old, lady whose Pakistani husband died leaving her lonely and friendless in her adopted country. The hostility of her in-laws forced her to seek a return home. However the visa regime would not permit her. Her solution: destroy Pakistani passport, take out an Indian one.
