Badruddin Ajmal must answer for Assam strife

In the end, the Gauhati High Court had to do what the Centre and the Congress-led Government in Assam should have done weeks ago: Direct a probe into the role of Maulana Badruddin Ajmal in the recent violence in the State. On Thursday, the High Court asked the Union and the State regimes to investigate the All India United Democratic Front chief and Lok Sabha MP for his alleged complicity in the strife that claimed more than 75 lives.
