Even a single death during a conflict between the state machinery and the people agitating against an issue in a democratic system is tragic and condemnable.  To that extent, the death of one fisherman in the clashes between the police and the agitators protesting against the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project in Tamil Nadu is a sad development.
