Congress now seeks to tarnish the image of CAG Vinod Rai in the wake of the audit institution’s damning indictment of the UPA regime over wrongful coal block allocations. The move is bound to fail. Unable to explain the dubious allocations of coal blocks, which have resulted in financial gains of Rs1.86 lakh crore to private companies, the Congress and the Union Government have begun to hurl wild accusations at the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India, who has brought this humongous scam to light.
