Any other verdict by the Supreme Court on Ajmal Kasab would have shocked and outraged the country. But on Wednesday, the apex court honoured the fervent wish of every Indian that the man deserved nothing but the gallows, when it upheld the death sentence that had been awarded to the Mumbai terror attack convict.
