The case for America as a Breakout Nation

Usain Bolt's victory in the London Olympics was scintillating indeed but largely expected. He is, after all, the most dominant sprinter the world has seen in a century, perhaps more. Anything less from him would have been greeted as a disappointment as results are always relative to expectations. This is as true for global economic competition as for the Olympic dashes.
