AFSPA must stay in Kashmir for now

The Cabinet Committee on Security must strongly resist the increasingly shrill call for the removal of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, from certain parts of Jammu & Kashmir. It must make this position clear in its upcoming meeting to be held soon. Giving in to the demand for lifting the Act would tantamount to capitulating before separatists and rolling back the hard fought gains our security forces have made over the years in the State.
