The Presidential choice is getting murky and increasingly regrettable. While an effort was made to exhume the innings of a popular occupant of Rashtrapati Bhavan, the ruling alliance dithered and delayed, prompting analysts to ponder if the UPA chairperson had ever forgiven Pranab Mukherjee for his historical faux pas. Mulayam Singh stepped in and claimed that his strategy forced the UPA to announce its final choice.
