Parties to democracy

Wise men say that a week is a long time in politics. By that token, two years is an eternity. So while it is presumptuous for anyone to predict what will happen in the general elections in 2014, I was taken aback by the recent spate of public comment that suggests that the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 shall witness a fractured verdict, and concomitantly a coalition government shall be at the helm of affairs.
