The proposal of a collegium to elect the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Comptroller and Auditor General ( CAG) and Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) has received broad support within the political class. It should be implemented and institutionalised as it constitutes a positive step towards transparent and impartial functioning of key Constitutional bodies.
