Congress: Centre Without Satraps

UPA-II completing three years in power also marks the beginning of slog overs before the 2014 elections. The next two years will see parties overhauling their organisational machinery , fine-tuning political planks, lining up the ground forces and making their governments provide policy backup. The assembly polls in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh later this year and in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh , Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan , Delhi and a couple of north-eastern states next year will set the tempo. Expect party leaders to experiment with internal changes.
