Parochial politics is a threat to the integrity of PAC

The new Public Accounts Committee has been constituted by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha for the year 2012-13. Set up in 1921, the PAC is the oldest financial machinery of Parliament for exercising unremitting financial oversight over appropriation of public money. On its unhampered functioning depends the safety of the tax-payers’ money and the guarantee of a transparent democratic administration.
