The 33-year sentencing of Shakeel Afridi, a Pakistani doctor who provided information on Osama bin Laden's whereabouts, is rapidly turning into a wedge issue between Pakistan and the US. The appropriations panel of the US Senate hit back immediately when it voted unanimously to cut $33 million in aid to Pakistan - a million for each year of the sentence.
