Gearing up for battle

At a time when the discredited Congress-led UPA is stumbling from one crisis to another, the BJP appears to be seriously getting its act together to take on the ruling combine. On Thursday, one of the main Opposition party’s tallest leaders and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi arrived for the party’s National Executive held in Mumbai, signalling an end to an almost year-long perceived stand-off between him and BJP president Nitin Gadkari.
