Grasp the nettle

The steep hike in petrol prices, sneaked in just after the Parliament session when, conveniently, the petroleum minister happened to be abroad, has predictably united the opposition and sparked unrest across the country. However, the government has only itself to blame for the current mess, since it has made a habit out of ignoring the demand for a total deregulation of oil prices.
