Cloak and dagger

Having failed to establish his innocence in the controversial Aircel-Maxis deal, Union Minister for Home Affairs P Chidambaram has taken to heart-rending dramatics to obfuscate the issue. In the Rajya Sabha on Monday he pleaded with the Opposition to put a dagger into his heart than question his integrity. In a normal situation, this emotional outburst would have mellowed even the most stone-hearted critic.
