Resounding rejection

Saturday’s meeting between the Prime Minister, his Home Minister and the Chief Ministers, representing virtually all the major political parties, in New Delhi has clearly failed to break the logjam over the proposed National Counter-Terrorism Centre. A brainchild of Union Minister for Home Affairs P Chidambaram, the NCTC, for the moment at least, appears to be doomed to die unsung unless a miraculous resuscitation is made possible by getting recalcitrant Chief Ministers to endorse the proposal.
