Ban carriage fees

The TV broadcasting industry, born along with liberalisation two decades back, is now at a critical juncture even as the India growth story lags. The inflection point for the TV industry can be the correct digitisation of cable services from July 1 in major metros, so as to ensure India's outdated analog cable services are upgraded to digital addressable formats, where viewers should be able to receive at least 999 channels on their set-top boxes.
