Charges have been raised that associates of senior official in the Prime Minister's office T K A Nair were allotted land in a public enterprise's housing cooperative. Mr Nair has denied any irregularity. Many will accept this, others will not and will get hot under the collar but hardly anybody gets worked up over the biggest scam of all: the allotment of urban land at concessional rates to those empowered enough to form cooperative societies with access to the levers of power, while the rest of the citizenry pay steep rents for tiny homes.
