Farce begets farce

After eight years of misgovernance, the Congress appears to have woken up to the reality that both the party and the Government led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are in no shape to even try and win the next Lok Sabha election. The voters have repeatedly signalled their displeasure at the present state of affairs by handing out resounding defeats to the Congress in various recent elections. Yet, the manner in which the party is supposedly going about the task of revamping itself makes the exercise look like a gimmick.
