The 7 ‘vacuums’ at the heart of the Banana Republic of India

A huge vacuum is developing between the executive authority and various other constitutional arms like the courts or parliamentary committees or statutory bodies like the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). The first three “vacuums” have effectively allowed the others to muscle into policy territory – whether it is in deciding on spectrum auctions, or award of coal blocks to private parties, or something else.
