The fall of a princeling in China
By all accounts, Bo Xilai was a powerful man in China. He was party chief in the south-western city of Chongqing and member of the politburo of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). A membership of the politburo standing committee—the actual centre of power in the politburo—was in sight. Then, barely a month ago he was removed as the party boss in Chongqing. On Tuesday, he was suspended from his other positions.
