The party is ending for CPM

There was a flare of hope just prior to the CPM's 20th party congress when it was plausible that there could still emerge a reinvented Left determined to listen more to the people than to its own rhetoric. That hope was given a quick burial as the six-day congress ended on Monday with the same old tired faces in charge with their tired pronouncements.
