The right way forward

Had the Congress-led UPA Government taken the States on board before announcing the operationalisation of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre from March 1, this important initiative to enhance our security preparedness may well have become functional by now. But the Manmohan Singh regime had to hold back the decision after it failed to unilaterally and arrogantly push it in the face of stiff opposition from the States, whose cooperation is crucial to the success of the new venture.
