Pound foolish

The joint appeal to the prime minister by seven major industry groups - mainly representing business in the US, UK, Canada and Japan - cautioning the government about the negative implications of the proposed retrospective amendments in the Budget, is unprecedented and needs to be taken seriously. The concerns expressed in the appeal - emanating from nations that are among the biggest investors in India - are widespread and not restricted to foreign investors alone.
