Posco fiasco will erode investor confidence

One hand of the government does not seem to know what the other does. Such an inference can be drawn from the flip-flop over the environment clearance given to POSCO’s mega steel project in Odisha. The National Green Tribunal has suspended the clearance, given by the environment ministry in January 2011, on the ground that it was not based on the full facts about the $12-billion project.
