The spirit is weak

In tangible terms, the BRICS grouping failed to move beyond a fancy acronym that clubs five emerging powers, all of which actively compete with each other for investments and a place at the global high table. So when World Bank President Robert Zoellick said the block’s new proposal to float a joint development bank will have a “hard time getting off the ground”, he may have had a point.
