Release hostages

Whatever the cause, hostage-taking of the sort resorted to by Maoists in Orissa cannot be condoned. Though the abductors on Sunday released one of the two Italian hostages, two others, Italian travel operator Paulo Bosusco and the tribal BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka from Laxmipur, continue to be in captivity. Maoists have demanded the release of five of their jailed leaders, including the wife of top Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda, in exchange for letting Bosusco walk free.
