Dynasty above democracy

The eagerness and enthusiasm with which retainers of the Palace, who are also known as ‘senior leaders’, have rushed to defend the Prince after he led the party to near-decimation in the battle for Uttar Pradesh serves to underscore the fact that the Congress remains in thraldom of the Dynasty, that nothing has changed over the decades, and that those who survive on scraps from the high table are as spineless as others before them who would unerringly genuflect at the altar of the First Family at every given opportunity to declare their loyalty.
