UP gets a young leader

By finally naming Akhilesh Yadav as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party has made a welcome generational shift in its leadership and given credit where it is due. After Mr Akhilesh Yadav  scripted his party’s fabulous victory in the Assembly election, there had been growing demand within the SP that he should be given the mantle of heading the new Government. Now that he has got it, he will soon realise that the Chief Minister’s job comes with onerous responsibilities.
