Mandate's message

The outcome of 2012's assembly elections carries big lessons. Voters, yet again, have refused to be taken for granted by poll-eve dispensers of quotas and other forms of state paternalism. And they have rejected the politics of symbolism favoured by arrogant and inaccessible power-wielders.
