A day not too soon

Today marks the last day of what many would consider to have been an annus horribilis for the Indian economy. We shall be slightly more charitable: The best thing about 2011 is that it is finally getting over. The reason why it hasn't been a great year is not because GDP growth for 2011-12 may fall below seven per cent, against 8.5 per cent and eight per cent in the preceding two fiscals.
