Now, Mamata veto puts off pension bill

The UPA on Wednesday had to step back on bringing the Pension Fund Regulatory Development Authority Bill, with ally Mamata Banerjee putting her foot down on the grounds that the reforms proposed were anti-people. In a letter to the PM, the Trinamool Congress chief underlined that the bill allowed for risky investment in markets and that she would oppose it.
