Manipur suffers misery

As the blockade of two national highways in Manipur entered its 100th day on Tuesday, the north-eastern State remains precariously balanced on the edge of socio-economic ruin — only a tiny step away from tumbling into the precipice of disaster. With National Highways 52 and 37 that form the State’s lifeline blocked for more than three months now, Manipur has pretty much run out of all essential items — food, fuel and medical supplies.
