America’s rich getting richer

As if to vindicate the central thrust of the “Occupy Wall Street” movement that is expanding to more and more American cities, the US Government’s own data released this week makes revealing reading. It shows that the income of America’s top one per cent has soared by a whopping 275 per cent over the past three decades. In glaring contrast to this, the income of the bottom 20 per cent grew by a mere 18 per cent during the same period.
