PC loses home turf

The Congress suffered a huge a setback in the Tamil Nadu civic polls held last week, failing to win even a single town corporation or municipal board. The worst defeat was in Sivaganga, the turf of Union home minister P. Chidambaram, where it lost miserably. All that the party got was the post of a town panchayat president — from a total of 12 in Chidambaram’s district.
