Govt plots to make RTI toothless

Even as the Government mulls changes in the Right to Information (RTI) Act, its apathy towards the transparency law is reflected in the fact that five out of 10 posts of information commissioner in Central Information Commission (CIC) are lying vacant as a result of which 17,000 RTI cases are pending.
